Ho, Marcus

Ho, MarcusMarcus graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration with Merit majoring in Operations and Supply Chain Management from NUS Business School. His first foray into the supply chain industry was in 1998 where he pursued and achieved a Diploma in Logistics and Operations Management with Merit at Temasek Polytechnic in 2001. His academic pursuit has allowed Marcus to glean strategic insights on supply chain complexities and has well equipped him with work improvement and analytical tools to confront today’s supply chain issues.

Marcus had led several teams in logistical operations improvement projects for established 3PL companies such as Kintetsu World Express (KWE), DHL Exel Supply Chain and Bax Global (now known as Schenker). In his polytechnic final year project with KWE, he led the team to conduct an operational review on the air export processes for the establishment of an operations manual. The project also included addressing the cross labeling issues, ineffective documentation flow in the office and errors in cutting airway bills. The team was awarded the Best Final Year Project for 2000/2001 in the course cohort.
Marcus graduated from the Management Trainee Program in Regional Container Lines (RCL) where he was trained and involved in sales marketing and operational aspects of container shipping. Currently, a Liner Implementation Executive, Marcus is responsible for the liner freight execution and improvement in India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka through managing and collaborating with the third party agents. Marcus is also a member of the Young Executive Group of the Singapore Shipping Association.

Besides his stint in supply chain freight transportation, Marcus has held several positions in DHL respectively as a Logistics Coordinator, Logistics Agent and Customer Support Agent in the areas of order fulfillment and warehousing operations. In addition, Marcus was exposed to RFID enabled solutions in supply chain security during his NUS internship stint at Toll Asia.

By being part of the Young Professionals Community, Marcus hopes to contribute to the collaborative platform in the sharing of experiences and knowledge, fostering of great networks through participative events and the showcase of the supply chain as an exciting and rewarding career for students and young professionals.
